AOL Embraces OpenSocial
AOL is joining Google in its efforts to develop a standard for social networking tools.
Our friends over at TechCrunch reported the announcement from today’s Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco. Google VP of Engineering David Glazer said AOL would be incorporating OpenSocial support into all its products.
OpenSocial is designed to create a common API for applications on various social networking sites. MySpace, Friendster, and LinkedIn are among the services already participating.
You can read more about what’s happening at the I/O conference today and tomorrow at Mark Hendrickson’s blog.
