NFL Star Nnamdi Asomugha Secretly Weds Kerry Washington

NFL star Nnamdi Asomugha has secretly wed Scandal star Kerry Washington.

The actress and San Francisco 49ers cornerback wed on June 24 in Blaine County, Idaho. Not only did the couple choose a remote location that was likely to keep paparazzi away, it turns out that nobody really seemed to know they were dating in the first place.

News of the Nnamdi Asomugha nuptials were not made public until they were reported on sports website TerezOwens.com.

Nnamdi Asomugha has enjoyed a long career in the NFL, playing eight seasons for the Oakland Raiders and two more with the Philadelphia Eagles. In April, Nnamdi Asomugha signed a new contract with the San Francisco 49ers.

Asomugha and Kerry Washington have acting in common. Along with his time in the NFL, the 49ers cornerback also guest-starred in several TV series’ including Friday Night Lights, The Game, Leverage, and Kroll Show.

Both Washington and Asomugha are big fans of philanthropic efforts. Nnamdi Asomugha has participated in the Clinton Global Initiative every year since 2009 while Kerry spoke at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

Kerry Washington was previously engaged to David Moscow, but that wedding was called off in 2007. Moscow is best know for his role as the young boy who turns into Tom Hanks in the movie Big. This is the first wedding for both Nnamdi Asomugha and Kerry Washington.

While the couple hid their wedding with spy-like precision, she did leave a small clue on Twitter:

Apparently, it is still possible to move forward with a secret wedding and evenly secretly date someone in Hollywood.
