Motörhead Singer Lemmy Not Dying, Is ‘Alive, Breathing, F******, Drinking’ Instead

Motörhead have released an update on the health of their lead singer and frontman, Lemmy, after the band had to cancel three tour dates due to illness.

It was reported earlier in the week that Lemmy had suffered a haematoma, which is where blood collects outside of a blood vessel. However the scale, location, and size of it wasn’t revealed, but it also coincided with the news that he had recently been fitted with a defibrillator, due to a heart condition.

This had lead to more rumors that the band’s future could be in jeopardy, however Motorhead have since released a statement updating fans on his health.

The statement read, “We are happy to announce that despite rumors to the contrary, Lemmy is alive, breathing, talking, f******, drinking, eating, reading and will be back to playing shows shortly. As reported, he did undergo a Motor-pit-stop for some medical maintenance this past spring, and the timing of his recent illness was unfortunate in that it came so soon after that.”

It then added, “Lemmy & Co believe in the ‘keep calm and carry on’ way of thinking. Fans can anticipate more Motorhead live action this summer, as well as the most exciting Motorecord in years, Afterstock, this Fall.”

Motorhead’s 40th anniversary will arrive in 2015, and Lemmy recently talked about their upcoming celebration, stating, “We’ll think of something, we always do. Probably involving naked women or something. We’ve been lucky; we’ve been around so long people realise they can’t get us to go away, so they’ve just decided to join us. You might not like what we do, but we do what we do very well.”

Motorhead are set to continue with a tour of the United Kingdom in November, where they will play dates at Nottingham, Newcastle, London, and Manchester.
