It came from Ebay: 22-year-old Nintendo cereal selling for $207


Nintendo’s foray into breakfast cereals wasn’t quite as successful as, say, its effort at game consoles.

But at least the company gave it a shot. Back in the 1980s, the Japanese videogame giant attempted to build on the success of its relatively new Mario and Zelda franchises with “Nintendo Cereal System”, a box of two different cereals with a Mario and Zelda theme respectively.

I never tasted this stuff back in the day, and as Nintendo Ralston Foods stopped making Nintendo Cereal System in the late-1980s, I probably never will. But if I am desperate to poison myself with an original box of outdated Nintendo cereal, this sealed box just popped up on Ebay – where it’s already going for $207.

While eating the contents of this box is not recommended, watching the Nintendo Cereal System advert below is highly recommended:
