LeAnn Rimes Wants To Play Mindy McCready [Rumor]
LeAnn Rimes wants to play Mindy McCready in a movie about the country singer’s life, if online rumors are accurate. McCready committed suicide last month. An insider source recently told In Touch magazine that Rimes is currently negotiating to garner the rights to Mindy McCready’s life story.
Mindy McCready was found dead on the porch of her home in Arkansas. The country music singer’s boyfriend David Wilson committed suicide one month prior. Although LeAnn Rimes is most widely known for her singing talents, she also has some acting credits under her belt as well.
Her first acting gig was on Days of Our Lives in 1998. Rimes also played a role in the American Dreams television in 2003. The Holly Hobbie and Friends: Christmas Wishes video short also starred the “Can’t Fight The Moonlight” singer.
LeAnn Rimes met her husband Eddie Cibrian while filming Northern Lights for the Lifetime network in 2009. In 2011, the singer played Holly Whitman in the television movie, Reel Love. Rimes songs were featured on the 2000 hit movie, Coyote Ugly.
The award-winning songstress began her performing career at the tender age of 3 in Mississippi. She has sold more than 20 million records. LeAnn recorded her first album when she was 11-years-old.
The supposed insider source also stated that Rimes is done with all of the personal life drama is placing renewed focus on her career. Future acting plans will play a larger part of the singer’s career choices, if the source’s claims are accurate.
A host of celebrities, many female country music singers, posted about their sadness over Mindy McCready’s death on Twitter. LeAnn Rimes tweeted, “My heart goes out to Mindy McCready’s family. I knew her well. It’s a horrible tragedy. May peace be with her sons.”
LeAnn Rimes new album, Spitfire, will be released at the beginning of April in both the United States and the United Kingdom. A photo taken at the 1997 ACM Awards show depicts LeAnn Rimes and Mindy McCready hanging out with Terri Clark. The stars are all smiles in the photo, showcasing McCready during happier times. Substance abuse issues plagued McCready during her final years.
