Jessica Chastain Talks About Boyfriend On Oscars Red Carpet

Jessica Chastain talked about her boyfriend, Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo on the Oscars red carpet Sunday night.

While Chastain may not have won Best Actress (that honor went to Jennifer Lawrence), the 35-year-old was very willing to talk about her fashion executive beau, who she has been quietly seeing.

Us Weekly reports that the Zero Dark Thirty nominee revealed to Mario Lopez of her romantic relationship:

“I’m very very happy. It’s a wonderful thing when a career does so well and your personal life does so well. My friends and my family are so important to me.”

A source close to the couple stated that Chastain and Passi de Preposulo have been dating seriously for a while. They added:

“He is a classy guy and completely agrees about respecting their relationship and not flaunting it.”

Despite their serious relationship, Jessica Chastain didn’t bring her boyfriend to the Oscars. Instead, her date was her grandmother, though she wasn’t afraid to talk about her relationship.

Extra TV notes that the Best Actress nominee also didn’t plan an acceptance speech for the possible Oscar. She explained, “Honestly, I don’t think it’s my year this year.” Her prediction turned out to be true, as Jennifer Lawrence took home the award for her role in Silver Linings Playbook.

It was also clear that Chastain, though sans her Italian beau, wasn’t having trouble with her relationship. His lack of appearance was, instead, simply part of their pact to keep their relationship out of the spotlight. As for her date Sunday night? Chastain’s grandmother gushed she couldn’t be more proud of the actress for her nomination.

There is no word on when, if at all, Jessica Chastain’s boyfriend will join her on the red carpet.
