‘Fast And Furious 6’ Gets An Official Synopsis

In addition to confirming that director Justin Lin’s Fast and the Furious sequel will be called Fast and Furious 6, Universal has dropped an official synopsis for the flick.

Until now, fans and movie-oriented websites were unsure what to call the sixth installment in the Fast and the Furious franchise. With the Super Bowl trailer looming on the horizon, the studio has finally decided to reveal the sequel’s official title.

Here’s how Universal describes the film. Once again, those who haven’t seen all of the films released thus far may find spoils below:

“Since Dom and Brian’s Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

“Meanwhile, Hobbs has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty. The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.”

To help spread the word about Fast and Furious 6, star Vin Diesel has released several images from the flick on his official Facebook page. In addition to posting a picture of him standing alongside star Paul Walker, one image reveals the return of a character seen in previous installments.

The first trailer for Justin Lin’s action flick is currently slated to arrive at some point during the Super Bowl. Interested parties are encouraged to tune in and check it out.

Fast and Furious 6 stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and Elsa Pataky. The film will arrive in US and UK theaters on May 24.
