Danny DeVito And Rhea Perlman Divorce Has Saddened ‘Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Cast

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are calling it quits after 30 years of marriage, and their divorce has saddened at least some of the cast members on the hit TV show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The cast was recently celebrating the season 8 premiere of the FX show, but missing from that celebration was show co-star Danny DeVito.

Rob McElhenney spoke with PEOPLE during the show’s season premiere at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome in Hollywood where he revealed:

“I spoke with him yesterday and obviously he’s bummed and we’re bummed for him. We love them both and this is a really difficult time for both of them, so we’re supporting both of them.”

Glenn Howerton then called Rhea Perlman “part of the family” after getting to know her during some of her visits to the show’s set.

The cast didn’t have anything back to say about DeVito or Perlman, offering their support as the couple go through what should be the very private act of divorce.

Actress Mary Elizabeth Ellis summed up the casts sentiments nice:

“It’s always sad when something like this happens with your friends, but we love them both very much.”

Reports have circulated in which Rhea Perlman is believed to have broken the marriage off because of Danny DeVito’s constant womanizing. According to a source at the Daily Mail:

“Danny can be quite the flirt and because of his powerful status in Hollywood, he’s not ashamed to abuse his position and chat-up young, aspiring woman looking to make it in the industry.”

DeVito and Perlman wed in 1982 after co-starring in the hit sitcom Taxi between 1978 and 1982.
