On again, off again couple Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are finally going to “take the plunge and tie the knot” according to Hollywood Life. In 2016, Miley and Liam have had more than their share of ups and downs in their long relationship history, but it looks like they have really and truly worked things out this time around. They aren’t planning to make a big splash with their long-awaited wedding this summer, even though the amount of effort they’ve put into getting their relationship to this point certainly deserves something big! But the “We Can’t Stop” singer and the Australian heartthrob actor are keeping their wedding small and “intimate.”

Us Weekly jokingly asked if this means Miley “won’t twerk down the aisle with a couple of drag queens,” and the answer to that question has got to be yes. Cyrus is taking her wedding seriously and intends to do it right. According to a source close to Miley and Liam, the “social justice queen” is putting into practice some of the values she’s talked about and refusing wedding gifts. She’s asked guests to donate to a charity of their own choosing instead.

“They’re going to ask all of their guests to donate to a charity of their choosing.”

That’s such a great way to keep the focus on the wedding between two people who love each other, instead of on the big bash that so often goes with the wedding.

Another fan used a video clip to express how emotional Miley’s decision about wedding gifts made her feel.

Cyrus is known for caring about social justice issues, and that’s something a lot of her followers really appreciate in a world where so many celebs don’t seem to care at all.

The same source shared that so far there are no glitches in Cyrus’ 2016 wedding planning, and both Miley, 23 and Liam, 26, think it’s “going great.” It’s hard to go wrong with a small beach wedding where the weather is almost guaranteed to be warm and sunny, but there are still a lot of details to work out. It’s especially exciting that Liam’s brother, Chris Hemsworth, already offered to “open his home” to the couple for their wedding, and that just may be what made them decide to take the wedding plunge. Chris has a huge beachside mansion that boasts a private beach perfect for a secluded wedding. Although Cyrus and Hemsworth are said to want a small wedding, when the news broke about Chris hosting the wedding at his house, a Miley insider said that the bride and groom were looking forward to a big wedding bash.

“They love the idea of having a huge party at Chris’ place.”

All the rumors are that the wedding will be this summer, but Cyrus hasn’t said for sure what date they’ve chosen, and Hemsworth is just as mum. Not even friends in on the secret are leaking the info. Fans are getting antsy and can’t wait for more details. Some are even angling for ways to get invited to the wedding.

It only makes sense that they’ll hold the wedding in the summer of 2016 though, since Miley is all set to start work on The Voice in September. Being a judge on The Voice is sure to keep the singer so busy that she won’t have any time for a wedding until the season is over several months from now. It doesn’t seem at all likely that after all they’ve been through together, and the many times they’ve broken off their romance only to start dating again, that they’d delay any more now that they’ve announced their wedding is finally going to happen. Even Dolly Parton is getting excited about the rumor that Miley and Liam’s wedding is going to happen, and the country singer says she’d love to be there.

The two only just “rekindled their relationship” just before the 2016 New Year, after being split up for two years, and have had a few rough spots along the way since then. Miley’s engagement ring is firmly on her ring finger though, and it’s stayed there since they reunited. What do you think?
