Chris Brown Confirms New ‘OHB’ Mixtape ‘Coming Soon,’ Singer Teases New Music On Instagram

Chris Brown may have released his seventh studio album, Royalty, just four months ago, but it looks like the “Back To Sleep” singer already has some new music in store for eager fans.

Despite having dropped his latest studio album in December, Chris Brown has been busy in the recording studio working on what fans believe to be a follow-up release to the singer’s Before the Party mixtape that dropped back in November. Now, it appears that Chris Brown has confirmed fans’ speculation of a new mixtape release after taking to Instagram on Saturday to tease a new track while hinting that an OHB mixtape is on the horizon.

“#OHBMIXTAPE coming soon! #BEFOREDATRAP,” Chris Brown wrote in a caption alongside a video of himself dancing and mouthing along the lyrics to a new track, reportedly titled “Before The Trap.”

While it’s unclear when Brown may be planning to release his new mixtape, it appears that the “Loyal” singer already has several new tracks recorded for the project’s impending release.

Chris Brown has been steadily previewing new music on Instagram and Periscope since Royalty‘s release in 2015, including tracks like “Who This,” “Undress,” “Grass Ain’t Greener (On The Other Side)” and most recently, “Dead Wrong,” which Brown teased on Instagram just last month.

With Brown’s Before the Party mixtape containing a massive 34-song track list, it’ll be interesting to see if Chris Brown includes all of the tracks that he has been teasing on social media over the past few months.

The news comes just days after Brown released two new versions of his “Back To Sleep (Remix)” track, which originally contained features from Usher and Zayn Malik for the sultry remix. In the newly released “Back To Sleep Remix 2,” Chris Brown is joined by August Alsina, Miguel, and Trey Songz while his recently announced “Back To Sleep Remix 3,” which dropped on April 10, features Tank, R. Kelly, and Anthony Hamilton, Vibe reports.

In addition, Chris Brown recently opened up to Urban Ink via Inked Magazine about the evolution of his music throughout his career, telling the publication that he doesn’t let his insecurities get in the way of creating a new sound with each new music release.

“Well, it’s easy: fearlessness. It’s not arrogance; it’s fearlessness. People dog themselves before they give themselves an opportunity to fail. So I think they let other people’s insecurities bring their doubts down. I don’t let that stop anything I’m doing,” Brown explained of his transition between R&B and hip-hop tracks in his recent studio releases.

“It’s never worked out for me in the past, so I think that listening to myself and focusing on what I needed to do puts me in that category,” Brown further explained. “So if I wanted to rap or if I wanted to yodel, I think I would have just done it anyway with the confidence of me saying, ‘I’m gonna do it.’ People usually have a lack of confidence due to insecurities. Once again, it’s not arrogance. It’s just being very aware and fearless of doing things or willing to try.”

With Brown gearing up for the European leg of his “One Hell of a Night” tour, which will kick off in Frankfurt, Germany, on May 22, perhaps Chris Brown is preparing for a summer release of his OHB mixtape?
