Gretchen Rossi Vs. Vicki Gunvalson: How’s The ‘RHOC’ Feud Doing Now?

Gretchen Rossi hasn’t been on The Real Housewives of Orange County for years, but that doesn’t mean she’s forgotten everything that happened on the show. In fact, Rossi has been following the cancer scandal rather closely, as she used to fight with Vicki Gunvalson when they were filming the show together. When Rossi was dating Jeff Beitzel, he was struggling with cancer and later passed away. But Gunvalson had plenty of opinions about filming a reality show when someone close to her was dying of cancer. As it turns out, this was something that she herself was struggling with last year.

According to a new Bravo report, Gretchen Rossi is now revealing that she has actually made peace with Vicki – at least somewhat. The two didn’t really get along when Vicki and Gretchen were filming The Real Housewives of Orange County together, as Gunvalson wasn’t a huge fan of Slade Smiley, Rossi’s boyfriend.

“So ironically Vicki and I made up this last year, which was really cool and nice,” Gretchen has revealed to Bravo, adding, “And we talked a lot in the last season and I stayed in touch with her just to check in with her and see how she’s doing.”

As it turns out, Gretchen Rossi decided to reach out to Vicki after she learned that Brooks Ayers had been diagnosed with cancer. The two women could bond over having someone they loved diagnosed with cancer. It sounds like Gretchen was very understanding of Brooks’ illness, and it doesn’t sound like she judges Vicki’s journey so much.

“A lot of people found that to be very odd because she was going through a lot of scrutiny that she herself and Tamra [Judge] put me through in regards to my relationship with Jeff and with [current fiance] Slade [Smiley],” Gretchen said, adding, “And the truth is, what kind of person would I be? I would be just as much a hypocrite if I all of sudden did to her what she did to me. So I chose to rise above that and say, ‘You might have done this to me, but it doesn’t matter.'”

It’s admirable that Gretchen Rossi can completely move on from the drama that haunted her for so long. And it sounds like Rossi isn’t judging her former co-star over the drama that went down with Ayers. While many of her former Real Housewives of Orange County stars don’t believe that Ayers has cancer, Gretchen seems to be open-minded and just wants to be a support system for Vicki. Rossi is the support system for her friend that she didn’t get in return. And it sounds like Rossi believes that her friend needs the help and support – despite what the truth is.

“I really just told her I felt bad for her, that’s the bottom line,” Rossi explains, adding, “I felt bad that the women attacked her as much as they did. I know what that feels like. It’s a horrible feeling. And from my perspective, the only thing she really did wrong was fall in love with a man — and that’s what I felt happened to me, too. I felt like everyone was harping on me because of the man that I fell in love with. It’s really not fair, and if people are your friends they support you no matter what. I don’t know if Vicki knew or not about the situation, but from what she’s told me she didn’t. So as a friend, you have to believe that person.”

Just a few months ago, Gretchen Rossi didn’t feel the same way about her former co-star. According to Bravo, Gretchen wasn’t a huge fan of her former co-star because of the comments that were made. It sounds like things have finally turned around for them.
