‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Blu-Ray & DVD Release Date And Details Revealed


Star Wars: The Force Awakens is coming home, more specifically to what will likely be millions of homes.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ run in theaters is coming to an end, and it was announced Thursday at the Walt Disney Company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert Iger that the seventh installment of the Star Wars franchise will be available for download on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on Friday, April 1.

Only four days later on Tuesday, April 5, Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD. This is a sneak peek of what the packaging will look like. A 3D version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released later this year.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Blu-ray and DVD will contain a number of bonus features that Star Wars fans are certain to enjoy. The bonus features include an in-depth documentary, never-before-seen footage, deleted scenes, and exclusive interviews with the filmmakers and actors. Here’s a taste of some of the features that will be included on the Blu-Ray and DVD release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the third-highest grossing film of all time, behind only Avatar and Titanic. Released in theaters on December 18, 2015, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has raked in more than $2 billion at the box office, and is certain to bring in a lot more money starting April 1.
