Will Lady Gaga Return For ‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 After Her Golden Globes Win? Creator Ryan Murphy Weighs In

Lady Gaga has a lot to celebrate. Not only did the Grammy Award winning singer venture into the world of acting with her first ever lead role, but she also took home a Golden Globe for her part in Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story: Hotel. Does this mean Gaga back for a sixth season of the hit horror drama?

While Murphy has yet to reveal which cast members will be making a return to the show next season, E! Online managed to interview him following the Golden Globes. Along with expressing his own excitement for Gaga’s victory, Murphy revealed that he has already told some of the cast members which characters they will be playing next season. Does this mean he told Gaga, as well?

“Tonight I started to tell all the actors who they were gonna play for next season because I had too much to drink… So I told Angela Bassett and she was like, ‘What!?’ I’m going to regret it tomorrow, I think I said too much too soon.”

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the Golden Globe award marks the first acting award for Gaga, and she couldn’t be happier to have won it. “I feel like Cher in that John Patrick Shanley film Moonstruck right now,” Gaga shared during her acceptance. “It’s like one of the greatest moments of my life.”

In addition to her Golden Globe, Gaga has won several different prestigious awards for her talents, including five Grammy awards and two Emmy nominations.

Given her success in only her first year on the show, it would seem logical that Gaga will return for another season. After all, as noted by MTV, there are several different factors that make Gaga perfect for American Horror Story.

For starters, Lady Gaga fits in great with both the look and feel of the horror series. This was clearly seen in Hotel, which featured some of the more lavish sets to date on the hit series. Considering how Gaga is known for her own glitz in the fashion department, the actress appeared right at home on Murphy’s set.

At the same time, Gaga also fits in well with the other cast members on the show. In fact, this is something that Murphy pointed out at the Golden Globes when he revealed that her fellow cast members absolutely adored her.

“She was a great collaborator and a great pro … I’ve never met a performer where the cast and crew loved as much as her,” he stated. “They really rooted for her everyday … She’s one of a kind.”

As far as her acting skills are concerned, one of Gaga’s greatest qualities is her ability to push boundaries. In Hotel, this talent transitioned seamlessly as the show tends to be both scary and sexy at the same time, which Gaga has little trouble pulling off.

“She’s the only actress I think I’ve worked with who wanted to do more explicit stuff than was written… You write a foursome for her and you expect a lot of questions. She never did that. She showed up and she was wearing diamond pasties, a Band-Aid on her hoo-ha, heels, and a black veil that Alexander McQueen made for her on the day before his death.”

While the verdict is still out on Gaga’s future with the series, it is a safe bet that the actress will be back for another season of American Horror Story. The only real question is which character she will play as she vies for another award to add to her trophy case.
