Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber Cast Shade Toward Each Other — Is Their Friendship Over?
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber continue to cast shade toward each other since the start of the new year. Are these insults amid a lover’s quarrel, or is this the beginning of the end of their relationship?
Bettors would be wise to put their money on the latter, according to a recent report on Billboard. The media outlet quoted a Selena Gomez video where she was asked about Bieber and the potential for any relationship between the two singers. Selena was candid about a growing divide between the former lovers.
“Well, I am sorry, first of all. And honestly, what I would love to be printed is that I am so beyond done with talking about that, and him.”
Those verbal jabs came before comments Justin made about the men surrounding Selena Gomez recently. Bieber took aim at both Christopher Mason, the sexual object for Selena Gomez in her video for “Hands To Myself.” During a recent radio interview, Bieber called into question who he was before backing off the subject.
“What is she trying to do to my heart right now? I’m just kidding. She loves me. I love her, too, always. Who’s this guy? He’s a joke! This guy’s a chump. Nah, I guess he’s pretty handsome actually – I can’t even lie.”
The radio interview – which was recorded in December but only released this week – heard Justin throw serious shade at One Direction. Bieber said that his talent made him famous, which was better than the band member’s fame deriving from being “put together on X Factor.”

According to a Hollywood Life report, that comment upset Niall Horan, who served as a potential love interest for Selena Gomez late in 2015. A source close to the One Direction member said the reason behind the disrespect is Bieber feels threatened by Horan and his crew’s marketability.
“Niall is certain that Justin’s comments about One Direction are aimed at him. He thinks Justin is taking a jab at him because of Selena. Niall thinks it’s funny what Justin said because when their respective albums were being released on the same day, Justin felt so threatened that 1D would surpass his sales. If Justin thought One Direction had no talent then why did he make such a big deal about it in the first place?”
Previous reports of a love triangle between the three artists have fizzled in recent weeks. It appears the public reunion that took place between Selena Gomez and the “Sorry” singer at a Beverly Hills hotel bar was only a one-night affair now.
Despite admitting how much he “loved” their relationship, Justin does not appear to be heading back to Selena Gomez anytime soon thanks to his relationship with Hailey Baldwin, the Inquisitr reported. “I just want her to be happy,” Bieber said about Selena Gomez in a recent radio interview.
Indeed, the relationship between Bieber and Baldwin appears to be heading to the next level after their week-long respite to the Caribbean, the Inquisitr reported. After the vacation, both Bieber and Hailey filled their social media accounts with pictures and videos from their time together, potentially signaling the end to his relationship with Selena Gomez.
Whether Justin is over Selena or not, Gomez is definitely on top of Bieber where it counts – the rankings. “Same Old Love” by Selena Gomez edged out “Sorry” from Justin Bieber to become the No. 1 song in pop radio for the week, Headline Planet reported on Sunday.
