‘Finding Carter’ Spoilers: Was The Show Cancelled Or Renewed For Season 3?

Finding Carter just finished airing the Season 2 finale with a huge cliffhanger. When this show began airing on MTV, it was different than what fans were typically used to seeing. Finding Carter was based on a family with different dynamics and many, many issues. When Carter returned home after being kidnapped and missing for years, it was an adjustment. Season 1 immediately gave way to a second season, but now there are questions about where the show is headed.

According to CarterMatt, Finding Carter Season 2 garnered an overall rating of a B- when it came to all 24 episodes. The show was pretty mixed up midway through the season, but the focus became clearer as time went on. The Season 2 finale of Finding Carter was filled with plenty of twists and turns, many of which you did not see coming. Now that there is a cliffhanger out there, fans are hoping MTV will decide to bring the show back for Season 3. With David back home and Jared dead, there is so much more to explore. Ben will be living with the Stevens family, and Max confessed to being the one to kill Jared. As Finding Carter ended, Max was being escorted away by the police.

As of now, Finding Carter looks like it will be renewed. There is so much to build from and with a unique show like this for MTV, canceling it wouldn’t be in the best interest for the network. Carter and Taylor are the two centered characters, but the focus has heavily shifted to Carter this season. The relationship with Jared was dragged out, which lost some viewers. Season 2 was a full 24 episodes, and it could have easily been done in 18 instead. Some fans were bored with the dragging out, but the season finale was worth the wait. From teenage pregnancy to abuse in the home, Finding Carter addressed a lot of teen issues during Season 2.

It looks like Vine Report is saying that Finding Carter is the only MTV show not officially renewed or canceled. The general thought is that it will be renewed at least for one more season. The writers for Finding Carter have a lot of material to work out and at the very least, there needs to be closure with Max and what happens to him. Carter made him turn himself in, and Taylor wanted to continue to allow Lori to take the blame. This is going to drive a wedge deep between the two sisters, more so than ever before. Finding Carter has a lot to handle, and a renewal is everything but confirmed at this point.

The new season of Finding Carter will likely begin airing again in the spring if it gets picked up by MTV. Generally, it will begin airing in like April and go for 12 episodes and then return again in the fall for the same duration. While it is still unclear where the show is headed, it is expected to be picked up. With Carter and Taylor at odds during the Season 2 finale, there is plenty to write about. Fans want to have a conclusion, even if MTV decides to do only a half-season series ending.

All the signs point to Finding Carter being picked up for Season 3. The writers have been discussing things, and there wasn’t even an attempt to wrap up the show during the Season 2 finale. MTV has seen success with this show, even though it was out of the norm for them. With Finding Carter still in limbo, fans are biting their nails waiting for the official call.
