Justin Bieber Gets Gunned Down, Millions Of Social Media Fans Are Delighted

The first trailer of the upcoming comedy film Zoolander 2 revealed the appearance of pop star Justin Bieber playing himself and getting assassinated due to his good looks.

In the trailer, Bieber, wearing a hooded jacket, appears to have successfully evaded his attackers, even breaking the neck of one of his pursuers in a stylish motorcycle action sequence.

Unfortunately, more gunmen appear, and the singer is shot. What might seem to have been a tragic moment in the film actually came out quite funny. What caused the comedic uproar on social media was his “dying selfie” shot, in which the singer assumed the classic squint-and-pout pose of Ben Stiller’s character, Derek Zoolander, right before he let out his final breath.

This is not the first time people have reacted to Justin Bieber’s “death.” It was January of last year when news broke out that Bieber reportedly died due to a vehicular accident involving his Ferrari. Obviously, it was a hoax intended to get retweets. However, there are people who believe that what happened to the “What Do You Mean?” singer in the trailer could actually happen to him in real life.

Some Twitter users have said that Justin Bieber might end up like Beatles band member, John Lennon, who died in a shocking assassination by a mentally unstable fan. One user even implied that the Bieber’s assassination has long been overdue already. The pop superstar is only one of the “beautiful people” who became assassination targets in the new film’s storyline. Other celebrities who showed their own funny-looking selfies while on the brink of death are Usher, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, and Lenny Kravitz.

The assassination of Justin Bieber and the rest of the “world’s most beautiful people” is the main crisis in Zoolander 2, which prompts the intervention of authorities.

Interpol, represented by Montana Grosso (Penelope Cruz), will have to employ the services of former top model Zoolander and his former rival model, Hansel McDonald (Owen Wilson).

Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch will also appear in the upcoming comedy film as the newest top model in the world. However, with shaved eyebrows and an odd voice, it is still unknown whether he’s playing a male or female character.

Will Ferrell will also reprise his role as the villain Mugatu, who spent years in jail after the events of the first movie. While he was seen as the mastermind of the high-profile assassinations, it remains to be seen if he actually has something to do with them.

Even before the trailer launched, Stiller has been keeping his fans updated on the details of Zoolander 2. Through his character Zoolander’s Instagram account, Stiller has been posting images and updates.

A day before the trailer was released, Stiller posted a photo of himself and Wilson doing their signature poses. Several months ago, he also posted an image of his character’s son, Derek, Jr., who is played by actor Cyrus Arnold.

The film will open in theaters on February 12, 2016, almost 15 years after the original. Stiller will also return as director and co-writer with Justin Theroux.

Meanwhile, the first film, which was directed, co-written, and co-produced by Stiller in 2001, grossed about $60 million both locally and globally. It was criticized, but still managed to earn a “fresh” rating from film review website, Rotten Tomatoes.

The trailer, which has been posted on YouTube by Paramount Pictures, also gained some criticisms from viewers, saying that it ruined Cumberbatch’s reputation as a serious actor, while some say that the trailer is no good at all.

Nevertheless, the video already amassed more than 23,000 likes, against about 800 dislikes.

Justin Bieber may not be a main character in the story, but his appearance has only hyped up the crowd for the upcoming flick. The trailer, which was uploaded yesterday, already has more than 2 million views.
