‘Teen Mom 2’ Divorce? Miranda Simms Reportedly On Edge After Learning Of Corey’s New Ties To An Ex-Girlfriend
Is Teen Mom 2 couple Corey and Miranda Simms headed for a split just days after welcoming their first child together? Although a divorce is far from reality at this point, a new report claims there’s likely trouble in paradise for the Teen Mom 2 stars due to the name of their child.

This past weekend, the Teen Mom 2 couple, who wed in June, 2013, welcomed daughter Remington Monroe Simms. And while the reality stars appear to be loving life with their new baby girl, a new report by Radar Online on November 11 claims there’s much more going on behind the scenes than photos lead on, as Remington’s name was reportedly taken from Corey’s ex-girlfriend.
As Radar Online‘s source revealed, Amber Scaggs O’Brien, 25, who dated the Teen Mom 2 star briefly in 2011 after his divorce from Leah Messer, shares a 3-year-old daughter with her husband, who is also named Remington.
“Though they never spoke, Corey was Facebook friends with Amber, and would have seen all the photos of Remi and posts with her name.”
On Facebook, the Teen Mom 2 ex-girlfriend often shares photos of Remington, as well as her 5-year-old daughter, Bralin, and just like Corey and Miranda have called their newborn, Scaggs O’Brien refers to her child by the nickname “Remi.”
Although the woman wasn’t initially aware of the Teen Mom 2 star’s new baby’s name, Messer reached out to Scaggs O’Brien, informing her of the news.
“Leah told her to take a look at the stories. Amber was shocked! She knew it was too strange to be a coincidence.”
Right away, Scaggs-O’Brien reportedly confronted the Teen Mom 2 star on Twitter, but rather than give her an explanation about his choice for his third child’s name, he reportedly unfollowed her.
Meanwhile, the name scandal has rocked the Teen Mom 2 star’s marriage, which was recently involved in a messy storyline with Messer on Teen Mom 2 Season 6.
“Now Miranda is asking questions, and she’s not happy!” the source explained.
During Teen Mom 2 Season 6, Messer admitted to sleeping with her ex-husband, Corey, just two months after he and Miranda tied the knot, and at the time, Messer was married to her second husband, Jeremy Calvert. While the revelation was quite shocking to many, it wasn’t exactly out of character for Messer. As fans will recall, Messer cheated on her first husband, as well, which she admitted to on a previous season of Teen Mom 2.

Although news of Messer’s affair with Corey was certainly the last thing his new wife, Miranda, was hoping for at the time, the Teen Mom 2 couple worked through their issues, and two years later, they appeared to be in a great place — at least until the name scandal with Corey’s ex.
As for the Simms’ continued role on Teen Mom 2, fans may have seen the last of the couple. While the cast of Season 7 of Teen Mom 2 has yet to be announced, it has long been reported that Corey quit the reality series after filming season six.
“Corey is done with the show,” a source told Life & Style in July. “He’s told MTV he will not return for another season. He doesn’t think the money is worth the aggravation anymore.”
In addition, Messer’s second husband was reportedly considering following in Corey’s footsteps, and quitting Teen Mom 2, as well.
“Jeremy also wants out of [Teen Mom 2], but he hasn’t made any formal moves yet,” the source added.
