Why is Lady Gaga’s ‘American Horror Story’ A Bloody Mess?

Lady Gaga’s American Horror Story: Hotel already seems to be building suspense.

Just days after FX released the first teaser preview, Lady Gaga took to Instagram herself to deepen the mystery and suspense, and what a bang-up job she did. She took to the social media to show off her latest prized possession: her script for the show.

Except, it wasn’t just a script – that would not to be true to Lady Gaga style. It was a script that was entitled on Instagram, “Just doing a bit of monster homework. Horrible lipstick accident. #AHS.” – and the photo showed a script and her finger covered in a sticky red substance that could be lipstick, blood – anything, really, which was likely the point of the mysterious post.

The title of the script – “Checking in” – was covered in the red substance, and it appeared that someone was on the phone – a phone with a cord. Who was she talking to? That remains part of the mystery.

Besides the name of the episode and cast, little is known about the characters nor the plot of American Horror Story: Hotel. Writer Ryan Murphy said that Lady Gaga wanted to be cast as “someone evil” – and there’s no doubt from her famous influence to the content of her Instagram post that she received her wish. This is not Lady Gaga’s first acting gig, but it may easily be her most anticipated by fans. The popularity of American Horror Story combined with the casting of Lady Gaga is sure to generate lots of viewers and high ratings.

Although Lady Gaga will be a new addition, when American Horror Story: Hotel premiers in October, there will be many familiar faces, according to Ryan Murphy. This is sure to delight fans and leave them wondering who the returning cast will consist of. Don’t expect anything less than the bizarre Lady Gaga you know: in the teaser clip, she is covered in silver metallic paint.

While Lady Gaga’s claim to fame began with music, including futuristic and wildly popular songs and accompanying videos like “Bad Romance”, Gaga seems to have a flair for acting, singing, dancing, and creating general mystery and sometimes discord wherever she goes. Love her or hate her, she isn’t going anywhere anytime soon: in fact, she may just be coming into her glory.
