Jeb Bush Comments: Presidential Candidate Uses ‘Mexican-American Wife’ Argument On Hot Button Issue

Some Jeb Bush comments are making headlines when it comes to a host of hot button issues — especially when it comes to illegal immigrants and the workforce in America. Bush used a different stance on how he wants to change the policy on legalizing immigrants and the remarks that Donald Trump tweeted about his Mexican-born wife, Columba.

Bush didn’t want to say much at the Veterans of War hall meeting in New Hampshire Wednesday night about what Donald Trump tweeted regarding his wife, but he did share how he feels about people sympathizing with those crossing the border illegally.

“You can love the Mexican culture, you can love your Mexican-American wife and also believe that we need to control the border. This is a bizarre kind of idea that somehow you can have an affection for people in a different country and not think the rule of law should apply. This is ludicrous.”

In Jeb Bush’s comments, he said that he plans to deploy “forward-leaning border control agents” closer to the actual border. He wants to utilize the latest technology — consisting of drones that monitor border traffic, fix the E-Verify system, and halt law enforcement funding to “sanctuary cities” that “refuse to work with federal agencies to deport illegal immigrants,” according to the report on the Washington Post.

Bush believes that the path for America’s illegal immigrants is “to provide a path to legalize status, not citizenship.” The Republican presidential candidate admits that “the idea that we’re going to round up 11 million people and send them back — it’s not real. It’s not grounded in reality.”

As for Donald Trump and his rhetoric, Bush indirectly stated that due to the billionaire’s recent views that have offended a large number of Latinos, he doesn’t think the chances of a Republican getting in office will be good if it continues.

“To win, we better start figuring out ways to message our beliefs in a way that gives people hope that everybody will be included in the progress that comes.”

Trump tweeted that Bush has a more comprehensive view on immigration reform because of his wife being Mexican-American. Politicus USA reports that the businessman tweeted on July 4 that Bush “has to like the Mexican illegals because of his wife.” The tweet has since been deleted by Trump, but it still exists.
