WWE News: Finn Balor Set To Win WWE NXT Championship In Japan, Will Be Main NXT Star

WWE NXT star Finn Balor is one of the hottest wrestling names in the world today. His star has grown since coming into WWE, and no one can say enough positive things about him in his first year with WWE. On Saturday in Tokyo, Japan, he is set to take on NXT Champion Kevin Owens for his title. Balor faced off with Owens previously for the title but lost, so many still believe there is a hint of doubt.

It is believed that Balor will walk out as the champion for a number of reasons. First and foremost, it is in Japan. Finn Balor made his name in Japan as Prince Devitt, and the fans know him well. So it is expected there will be a great crowd the entire night, though it could be a terrific crowd by the time the main event hits. On top of this, Kevin Owens is now a main roster guy. He is only required to be with WWE NXT for now because he is the champion. So he must lose the championship to lose his affiliation with NXT.

According to Cageside Seats, it is almost a foregone conclusion that Balor is walking out as champion. On top of this, WWE is preparing Finn Balor to be the top star on the show. While Tyler Breeze and Samoa Joe are there, as well as a lot of new, great talent, WWE wants to set Balor as the top guy. Some believe that he and Joe will go at it a few times for the NXT Title this year once Samoa Joe comes in full-time.

Tyler Breeze and Hideo Itami are expected to face off with Finn Balor as well. Do not be surprised if WWE has Finn Balor show up on the main roster off and on potentially toward the end of the year. WWE has seen the success of having WWE NXT stars come up in sort of a mini-call up, so this is expected to continue. Since Finn Balor seems to be over everywhere at this point, WWE might just bring him up as a surprise later in the year.

Many would expect it to be in a major city, however.

As for Finn Balor’s WrestleMania 32 aspirations, many believe that WWE will feature WWE NXT in some capacity at WrestleMania 32. The main reason is because WWE Chairman Vince McMahon wants to sell out AT&T Stadium. He knows NXT is popular, so he may very well go with a match to open the show or something similar. So Balor will have lived up to his promise from WrestleMania 31 media week most likely.
