PlayStation Plus Free Games Include ‘Metal Gear Solid V’ For June 2015

The PlayStation Plus Free Games for the month of June 2015 bring gamers a taste of Hideo Kojima’s final opus with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, as well as a smattering of excellent indie titles that includes former Xbox exclusive Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide Edition.

Metal Gear SolidV: Ground Zeroes is the prequel, or paid demo depending on who you ask, to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The entry marks the first appearance of Metal Gear on the latest generation of consoles. Another first for the series is an open world (or prison camp) environment in which the player has a singular mission which can be completed in less than 4 minutes with a perfect S-Rank, as evidenced by Kotaku. Players can of course take their time to find collectibles, blow the camp to kingdom come, or just dink around playing cat and mouse with the small army that is actively seeking you out. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be a free game release on the PlayStation 4 as part of the Instant Games Collection.

Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide Edition is another free game highlight that will be sure to delight PlayStation 4 owners. A former Xbox and Windows exclusive, the turn-based strategy game is finally free of the exclusivity period and has since released on iOS and is now making its debut on the PlayStation platform. Set in the Samurai Afterlife, you must build an undead army to find who has wrongly ended your time on the mortal plane while engaging in some very engaging strategy mechanics. Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide Edition will release on the PlayStation 4 as part of the Instant Games Collection.

Other titles within the June 2015 PlayStation Plus Instant Games Collection include Super Exploding Zoo and Futuridium EP Deluxe for the PlayStation Vita gamers, with cross-buy support for both titles on the PlayStation 4. Super Exploding Zoo tasks the player with defending the animal eggs within the zoo by the morally questionable method of sending herds, gaggles, and prides of exploding animals. Futuridium EP Deluxe is part of the retro-style game scene as a shooter with puzzle mechanics thrown in for good measure all set to electronic music sound track and psychedelic colors.

PlayStation 3 PS Plus subscribers will be receiving Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and procedurally generated 2D platform Couldberry Kingdom. The full list of free PS Plus games for June 2015 can be found below and on the PlayStation Blog.
