WWE News: Big Backstage Update On Daniel Bryan, Set To Get Another Surgery And Return To TV?

WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan is missing time away from WWE once again, this time for a shoulder related issue. Many believe it is the same arm that has been giving him trouble since his surgery last year. At the time, we were hearing that he had several issues with his arm and there was even a rumor that he might need Tommy John Surgery to repair his UCL in his right arm.

If the shoulder injury is the same arm, the problem with Daniel Bryan can be figured out a bit easier. However, this means he has to miss time away from WWE yet again because he cannot perform. This is not settling well with WWE. So there is an idea on the horizon for the YES Man. According to The Wrestling Observer, WWE is considering the idea of using Bryan in a non-wrestling role that will allow him to be used on TV.

WWE has a new DVD, book, and other merchandise for Bryan that they want to push. They cannot really do that without him, so as a result, WWE wants to figure out ways to use him where he can be on TV but not have him wrestle.

This is one of the main reasons Daniel Bryan was tapped to be a judge on the new season of WWE Tough Enough, set to debut in June.

He along with WWE Diva Paige and WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan will judge all Tough Enough contestants. There is a thought that WWE could put him in a managerial role for normal programming, but it would all depend on the context. WWE could remove Kane from his position, which would open up a role for Bryan. Of course, that may not happen as Seth Rollins would have to lose his WWE World Heavyweight Title at WWE Payback, which probably won’t happen.

WWE has been wanting to bring back the General Manager role. While there is really no need in it, it could be a way to use Bryan until he is medically cleared to return to the ring. Plus WWE could always return him to a similar role if he was hurt again. There is a concept rumored that “the board” would appoint a GM so that The Authority couldn’t run roughshod on the show. Who better than one of The Authority’s worst foes to be appointed to such a role?

WWE feels that due to his in-ring style, Bryan is injury prone. Keep in mind, he has been hurt enough to miss time only twice since performing with WWE. So he is probably not injury prone more than unlucky. Plus if the injury this time is related to the other he had, then it makes total sense that he would be having issues. WWE is disappointed that Bryan is hurt yet again, but they do understand that things happen.

WWE believes that he could still come back to the ring and Daniel Bryan is doing everything he can to get medically cleared. The MRI results Bryan mentioned are true, as there is no telling when or if he’ll be able to return to the ring. That is why he vacated the WWE Intercontinental Championship. The feeling is that Bryan probably can get the surgery he was reluctant to get last year, but there is no telling if that will fix the problem. It very well could, but he has to do it for anyone to know.

Many people within WWE do feel bad for Daniel Bryan due to the personal and professional issues he has been going through over the last year, However, he has a lot he can still do with WWE outside of performing in the ring. It seems that this time around, Bryan will take those roles so that he can still work in front of the crowd. Then if he can come back, he’ll probably have a great storyline to work in.
