Woman Allegedly Smuggles Vagina Gun Into Prison

A woman arrested for stolen credit cards and on other charges allegedly took a handgun hidden in her vagina into the Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque, N.M.

Fortunately, another inmate found the weapon in the bathroom trash and alerted Bernalillo County sheriff’s deputies at the jail.

The suspect, identified in multiple media accounts as Josephine McAllister, 34, allegedly admitted to cops that the gun was stashed in her waistband but she didn’t reveal it to booking officers because she was trying to avoid additional legal trouble. Evidently authorities aren’t necessarily buying that explanation.

“At least four officers searched her before she was booked, according to the [criminal] complaint. Deputies believe she was concealing the gun in her genital area, not in her waistband,” the Albuquerque Journal reported.

McAllister, who allegedly was high on heroin at the time, insisted to the officers that she had no intention of using the weapon to harm anyone inside the facility, and that’s apparently why she tried to get rid of it. Jail officials also don’t believe she was attempting to pass along the weapon to another inmate either.

The original arrest occurred on December 16, and she now faces a newly filed charge of bringing contraband into a jail, however.

“We can only be so thorough, and that area is out of the question. We cannot search a body cavity,” explained one of the deputies on the scene.

Authorities at the Albuquerque jail have nonetheless stepped up prisoner screening as a result of this incident. “(We are) wanding people when they come to the back door, and making sure personnel [are] actually standing by at the restrooms, searching before and after the person comes out of the restrooms, just to ensure that no contraband was left there,” explained Capt. Ray Gonzales.

Last April, a Tennessee teenager originally arrested for driving on a suspended license was allegedly found with a loaded five-shot mini pistol in her vagina during a routine pat-down by a female corrections officer.

Separately, as The Inquisitr previously reported in January 2014, the ex-wife of Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Cormac McCarthy allegedly threatened her boyfriend with a gun that she pulled out of her vagina after they reportedly argued about space aliens. She was charged with aggravated assault. That incident coincidentally also occurred in New Mexico.

Apart from sneaking a gun in a vagina, there have been recent instances where that genital area was used to smuggle drugs into the U.S.
