Marvel’s ‘Inhumans’ — Vin Diesel Teases Role

Marvel’s film Inhumans is slated for a 2018 release, and Vin Diesel may very well be a part of it.

Diesel, who is no stranger to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after being the voice of Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy, recently posted a new cover on his Facebook page featuring Vin standing in front of the phrase, “Are You Inhuman,” with an Inhuman logo on his shirt.

The implications are clear, though the specifics are a bit muddled. Either Vin Diesel is teasing his involvement in Marvel’s upcoming Inhumans film, or he’s lobbying for a part in the Inhumans film.

So why is a Facebook cover photo news? Because Diesel has done this in the past. Before Vin was officially announced as being part of Guardians of the Galaxy, the actor posted pictures of Groot on his Facebook page. So, is it all happening again?

Inhumans is scheduled to be released a year after Guardians of the Galaxy 2. When Vin originally announced that he was in talks with Marvel for a film role, fans immediately assumed it was for the part of Black Bolt, the leader of the Inhumans. Using a voice actor in another role in a Marvel studio will become a reality next year when Avengers: Age of Ultron is released. Paul Bettany, who voiced Tony Stark’s A.I. assistant, J.A.R.V.I.S. in the Iron Man films and The Avengers, will now play The Vision in Age of Ultron. Though J.A.R.V.I.S., Ultron, and the android character The Vision may ultimately be connected via the storyline, the movie does set a precedent of actors playing voice over roles as one character, and appearing on-screen as another character.

What’s interesting about the possibility of Diesel playing Black Bolt in the Inhumans film is that the character of Black Bolt doesn’t speak. In the comics, if Black Bolt were to speak, his voice would level an entire city.

Marvel has been ramping up to the Inhumans already via Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. So far, Skye (and some believe Raina) is believed to be from the Inhumans comics.

What do you think? Would Vin Diesel make a good Black Bolt in the Inhumans film?
