Chinese Government Does Not Tolerate Muslim Jihad, Executes 13 Terrorists

Worldwide Islamic terrorism has become one of the biggest issues for many nations, especially when it comes to being a threat to a country’s homeland security. The Inquisitr has been up-to-date when it comes to the latest Islamic terrorist activities, primarily from the Islamic State. Apparently, the Islamic State intercepted an air drop of weaponry from the United States, thus adding to their arsenal. American soldiers, as well as veterans, should be upset this is happening, but some are more concerned about Islamic State sympathizers wanting to slaughter them, especially the one soldier living in Florida.

Now there is news coming about Islamic terrorism coming out of China. However, it is not an attack, but the sentencing of the Muslim jihadists who initiated the attack in which they are to be executed.

According to China Digital Times and followed up by The Independent, 13 people in the Xinjiang Region of China were sentenced to death on Monday, just one year after three other people were executed for a jeep attack in Tianamen Square. The 13 people from the Uyghur Autonomous Region were executed for terrorism and other violent crimes.

The official news agency Xinhua made a public statement about the executions in which it read the following.

“The 13 people had been found guilty of organizing and leading terrorist groups, as well as murder, arson, theft and other crimes, according to the official Xinhua News Agency, whose report cited courts in three different cities in Xinjiang. “The 13 criminals had planned violent terrorist attacks and ruthlessly killed police officers, government officials and civilians, which took innocent lives, caused huge property loss and seriously endangered public security, according to local courts.”

Xinjiang is the traditional home of Muslim Uighurs, who speak a “Turkic” language. China has previous blamed the Islamist separatists for previous attacks, but is also known for suppressing the Islamic religion as best as they could. International Business Times reports that Muslims will not be allowed to observe the month of Ramadan, meaning fasting is not allowed. Anyone violating the ban would be punished. However, the Muslim Uighurs are seeking to establish an independent state from China, which they want to call East Turkestan.

As for the 13 who were executed, their attacks happened in different parts of Xinjiang, one happening back in June, which killed 24 police officers and local residents. There was also another man sentenced to life in prison, and four others receiving prison terms ranging from five to 20 years.

What are your views on China’s take on Islam in their country? Is it right to suppress the minority, especially if they so happen to cause terror or should the country be more open to Islam?
