TweetDeck Takes Angel Round Up To $500,000

Twitter desktop application tool TweetDeck is in the process of finalizing an angel round of up to $500,000, according to AllThingD.

The application has become popular with some Twitter users due to its breaking out of Twitter streams and customization tools. I’ve never been a huge fan because it requires so much screen space, but I understand the appeal.

Having said that though, I tend to side with Om Malik: this sort of money for a desktop app that could be easily replicated and with no clear revenue stream does seem a little crazy. Still, congrats to developer Iain Dodsworth.

The funding comes from Betaworks.
