Jay-Z Cried Writing New Track For Jeezy: Are Marriage Problems Affecting His Work?
Jay-Z has admitted that he cried while writing a verse on a new track for Jeezy.
The “Soul Survivor” rapper made the comments while talking to MTV, and it appears as though Jay-Z got incredibly emotional as he wrote on the new song, “Seen It All.”
The track, which is yet another collaboration between Jeezy and Jay-Z, who have worked together on numerous songs over the last few years, including 2005’s “Go Crazy” and 2009’s “Real As It Gets,”sees the “99 Problems” singer reflect on his youthful years when he used to sell crack cocaine.
Jeezy told MTV News, “We got on the phone and [Jay] was like, ‘Yo, Jeezy, when I was writing the verse I had tears in my eyes, man,’ because it took him so far back to [Brooklyn’s Marcy Projects]. Every bar in that song was real – I put my hand on the Bible.”
According to HuffingtonPost.com, some of Jay-Z’s emotional lyrics include, “Uncle died on the spot/ Pop killed the family with heroin shots,” as well as, “I got ’em 5 grand a pop/ I had a plug in Saint Thomas on a trillion watts/ Flew him back to the States, park 92 bricks in front of 560 State/ Now the Nets a stone throw where I used to throw bricks.”
Jay-Z also allegedly makes reference to Emory Jones, the renowned runner of a Maryland cocaine ring that the multi-millionaire entrepreneur used to be associated with. He also notes in the track: “N****s can’t tell me shit about this dope game/ ‘Bout this cocaine, man, I done seen it all.”

“Seen It All” is the second single to be taken from the album of the same name by Jeezy, which was released on July 1. Jay-Z has previously spoken about his time as a drug dealer on his earlier albums, including the 1997 hit record, In My Lifetime, Vol. 1, especially on the track “You Must Love Me.”
It has even been speculated that Jay-Z’s current marital strife with his wife Beyonce led to his emotional reaction. Jay-Z has been accused of cheating on the “Crazy In Love” singer, and a source earlier today even alleged that it is a “foregone conclusion” that the duo will end their marriage in the coming weeks because of his numerous infidelities.
An insider told the Post about their impending separation:
“They are trying to figure out a way to split without divorcing.?.?. This is a huge concert tour and they’ve already gotten most of the money from the promoters up front. There are no rings, if you haven’t noticed. For just a split moment, things got real for them and she was even talking about adding to the family. But, after a while, Jay was out doing Jay and Bey was out doing Bey. They made the classic mistake of thinking a child would change everything and help to rekindle the initial fire, and it didn’t.”
