Christina Aguilera Malaysian Concert Cancelled, Singer May Play Private Show

Christina Aguilera is no longer scheduled to play an upcoming concert in Malaysia.

The singer was among several artists slated to perform at the Twin Towers Alive event on Friday (March 28) and Saturday (March 29). Following the announcement that Malaysia Flight MH370 crashed into the Indian Ocean, organizers decided to postpone the concert out of respect for those who lost their lives in the tragedy.

Petronas, the company responsible for sponsoring the event featuring Christina Aguilera, intends to reschedule the concert at a later date. Unfortunately for those who are deeply depressed about the cancellation, it’s unknown when the show will take place.

The sponsor said in an official statement:

“It is truly a tragedy and we are deeply saddened about the crew and passengers of flight #Mh370. As the sponsor of Twin Towers Alive 2014, we have concluded with [the] event organiser… and other fellow sponsors to cancel Tta 2014 as a sign of respect to the families & next-of-kin of the crew and passengers of flight Mh370. Our deepest condolences to them.”

According to Perez Hilton, Christina Aguilera and a host of other recording artists were originally scheduled to perform at the show following the Formula 1 race in Kuala Lumpur. The gossip blogger also explained that Twin Towers Alive organizers started a hotline for those who feel the need to complain about the situation.

In addition to Christina Aguilera, Craig David and Rick Astley were also scheduled to perform at the Twin Towers Alive event.

Chatter on Twitter suggests that the singer is preparing a private show for the folks who traveled to Malaysia to see her perform. Check out some tweets about the rumored gig below. As of this writing, Aguilera hasn’t confirmed anything about the performance.
