Half a million apps in the Apple App Store and still climbing

Every couple of months we get these bragging posts about how many apps are in the Apple App Store and how it is dominating the whole landscape; and admittedly it is pretty impressive, but really how many of those apps are worth the ones and zeros that went into making them up.
