Yahoo! is getting very serious about TV. Last week the company announced that it acquired the exclusive rights to stream back episodes of Saturday Night Live and today they announced the launch of six original TV shows that will be available on the Yahoo! website.

“In the last year, we have more than doubled the original video programming on Yahoo! to become one of the Web’s largest content publishers,” said Erin McPherson, Yahoo! vice president and head of video. “The new shows and partnerships we’re announcing at Yahoo!’s NewFront demonstrate how we are building scale, reaching more targeted audiences, and innovating with content.”

Three of the new TV shows are comedies and will launch in the fall. Three are lifestyle shows that will launch some time later this year.

Tiny Commando will star Ed Helms ( The Office ) as a four-inch tall private investigator who uses his “awesome fleet of vehicles to fight crime.”

In We Need Help Cheryl Hines ( Suburgatory ) and Rachael Harris ( Diary of a Wimpy Kid ) exploit their shared personal assistant.

Losing Your Virginity with John Stamos is an interview show in which Stamos will talk to celebrities about their first sexual experiences. It will be produced by documentary filmmaker, Morgan Spurlock.

Fashion Recipe will feature celebrity stylist Brett Alan Nelson as he demonstrates how to get the most out of a single item of clothing.

In Cinema & Spice Julianna Strickland and Natasha Feldman explore food and film while teaching viewers new cooking skills and decorating ideas.

Grill Girls is a working title, but regardless of what it’s finally called, it will be a grilling show hosted by Chef Megan Mitchell.

In addition to the new line-up of original programing, and the SNL deal, Yahoo! is partnering with WWE, ABC News, CNBC, and Conde Nast.
