The Washington Redskins beat the Raiders 24-14 in Oakland to get their first win of the season.

The Redskins defense finally showed up, and RG3 put together a complete game against a Raiders team without Terrelle Pryor. Both teams are now 1-3 on the season, and both are better than their records suggest.

The Oakland Raiders had Matt Flynn under center after Terrelle Pryor exhibited concussion symptoms Saturday night. Flynn played okay, going 21 of 32 through the air with 227 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He found a favorite receiving target in running back Rashard Jennings, who had eight receptions for 71 yards.

Starting running Darren McFadden continued to prove he is not the the player the Raiders should build around. He left the game with an injury, a common theme of Oakland’s last five seasons.

The Washington Redskins played their best game of the season. The defense shut down another team’s offense for the first time in four game, and looked like the Redskins defense from last season.

RG3 , whose health has been in question all season, got back into rhythm, completing 18 of 31 pass attempts for 227 yards and one touchdown. Alfred Morris added another 71 yards on the ground, and the Redskins flew back to Washington very happy.

The game should be encouraging for the much maligned Redskins. They looked awful in the first three games of the season, and were on pace to be the worst defense in the history of the NFL. Now they can look forward to their next match, a little bit of hope restored.

Do you think the Washington Redskins are back to normal? Is it too late to salvage this season?
