UFO sightings in Breckenridge, Colorado, have prompted an investigation by military defense command. Multiple “shiny” and unmoving objects were reportedly spotted in the sky around Breckenridge during separate 15-minute segments on Friday morning.
NORAD is not tracking any anomalies in the Colorado sky, according to North American Aerospace Defense Command representative Army Major Beth Smith. She added that the military agency began investing the alleged UFO sightings after being alerted about the matter. As of Monday morning, no update on the Colorado UFO sighting had been issued by NORAD.
The UFOs allegedly moved to form straight lines or triangles while hovering near Breckenridge. Local KUSA-TV reporter Matt Renoux said that he did not believe the unidentified flying objects were weather balloons or drones.
“They would just sit there without moving an inch on our viewscreen in the camera,” Renoux added.
When the UFOs did finally move, they reportedly “took off” across the mountain ridge.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Department reportedly fielded quite a few UFO sightings phone calls from Colorado residents, and notified the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) about the goings on in the sky. The day before the Breckenridge UFO sightings, residents of Salt Lake City reported noticing similar “white dots” in the sky. The bright lights in the Utah sky were deemed a fireball form a bolide meteor by a local astronomer.
A report filed with the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) stated that the unidentified flying objects held a triangular pattern for nearly two hours. The document also said that there had been some speculation that the UFOs could have been high-altitude, helium-filled balloons. One individual who claimed to see the UFOs described their shape as elongated, perhaps even cigar-shaped. Another Sky Stalker commenter said the object flashed blue, green, and white, and reminded him of a falling star.
“It lasted several seconds, four to eight. As it moved across my field of vision the tail seemed to be sparkling, or breaking off in pieces. Flashing colors is common of bolide meteors. As the meteors combust near the end of its flight the space rock cools, then explodes, and breaks away.”
