The President of the United States can find solving geopolitical crises impressive, but what about opening a laptop after it’s been closed? During a Fox News interview with Laura Ingraham that aired on March 20 (which was also Barron Trump‘s birthday), President Donald Trump gushed about what he says is his youngest son’s “unbelievable aptitude in technology.”
“I turn off his laptop, I said, ‘Oh good,'” Trump recalled. “And I go back five minutes later, he’s got his laptop. I said, ‘How’d you do that?’ ‘None of your business, Dad.’ He’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology.”

Reddit, as a result, had a field day. “It sounds like Trump slammed the lid down on his kid’s laptop and stalked out of the room unaware of a thing called ‘sleep mode,'” one user wrote. Another compared it to parents praising their kid for assembling LEGO bricks. A third noted that this is the same energy as adults who think you’re a hacker because you closed a pop-up.
Some commenters suggested Trump may have installed parental control software or set a password lock, and that Barron had figured out how to bypass it. Still, the way Trump told it, the bar was set somewhere almost too low, as critics say.
Barron is not a tech-illiterate teenager, though. He graduated from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach and is currently studying at New York University’s Stern School of Business. People close to the family describe him as “an old soul” and more grounded than what many would expect from someone who spent the last decade being photographed at political rallies.
Sources have also told outlets that Barron is entrepreneurially minded and not interested in following his father into politics. He wants to build his own companies. One source described him as someone who “knows what he wants.”
Just think. This guy has the Nuclear Codes. 😳

What makes the laptop story funny is the confidence with which the 79-year-old said it on air. The president has obviously seen computers before, but thinks that his kid has done something miraculous by existing in a room with an open laptop.
In shocking footage obtained by the Daily Beast, the former republican U.S. President was seen sitting in a golf cart next to his son Barron while chatting with a bunch of people on a fairway — and tearing into Biden to shreds in the 44-second clip. 👇 https://t.co/irSFyEeCVF

At the end of the interview, though, Trump praised all his children, saying:
“I’m lucky… They’re good kids, and they work hard.”
But is someone really a tech prodigy because he knows how sleep mode works?
