Donald Trump is facing criticism for changing his views and “not living in the same reality.”

During a White House media address on April 1, critics accused Trump of misleading the public while sharing updates about Operation Epic Fury and the supposed successes of “Trump’s America.”

Tension increased after U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran started on Feb. 28. By April 2, the conflict had lasted 34 days with more explosions in Tehran, according Al Jazeera. After the initial strikes, Trump addressed the media, saying that Iran must never acquire a nuclear weapon. He claimed that Tehran was allegedly planning to rebuild strong nuclear capabilities.

In the White House address, Trump told people that the targets of the operation were close to being achieved and said that the war could conclude within two to three weeks.

He also warned that the U.S. would strike Iran “extremely hard” during that final phase to “finish the job.”

According to The Irish Star, in the same speech, the 79-year-old addressed domestic issues, including rising gas prices, claiming they would soon “rapidly come back down.”

This promise came after the U.S.-Israel strikes on Iran disturbed global oil supplies. The average gas price in the country reached $3.99 per gallon in March, a 34% rise from February, according to AAA.

Fuel shortages have been linked to disruptions in shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. The essential waterway connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. The waterway is large enough to accommodate the world’s largest crude oil tankers.

Following retaliatory strikes, Tehran threatened to strike ships passing through the Strait, triggering an international crisis, especially in Asian countries like China and India. While Trump has sought aid from allies, the spotlight remains on the U.S amidst widespread chaos.

Later in the address, Donald Trump described the United States as “the hottest country anywhere in the world by far.” He boasted that his administration worked tirelessly to create what he calls the “Golden Age of America.”

Today’s broadcast is just like “so he’s got another horrible lie. Not sure how he gets out of this one” again and again and again

“In one year, we’ve taken a dead and crippled country. I hate to say that, but we were a dead and crippled country after the last administration, but we made it the hottest country anywhere in the world by far, he added.

Trump said his leadership resulted in no inflation, record-setting investments of more than $18 trillion and multiple stock market highs. The Republican candidate said his leadership aimed to eliminate what he called the “cancer” of a nuclear Iran threat.

After the speech, political commentators and critics slammed Donald Trump for unverified claims and accused him of being ignorant and spreading “lies.”

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker wrote, “You can’t lie to the American people’s faces and expect them to say, ‘Thank you.’ We are not living in the same reality.” delusional and a habitual liar,” as he dismissed the claims in frustration. “This guy is living on a different planet! Void of reality,” he added.

In a joint interview with Elon Musk on Fox News, Trump said he had nothing to do with rising inflation (yet in his latest speech, he said there is no inflation). “We inherited it,” he said as some consumers complained of how grocery prices have made everyday items hard to purchase.

I just listened to this ridiculous Orange Fraudster lie to the American people. Blatant lies. Who does can believe a word he says ? He lives in a different reality than the world !

Meanwhile, speaking to host Tim Miller on The Bulwark Podcast, Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) slammed Trump as he claimed that the 79-year-old cannot understand how global oil markets function and has an unclear strategy for ending tensions involving Iran.
