In his continuing trend of insulting female reporters, President Donald Trump called one out on Tuesday in the Oval Office, telling her she is a “fresh person” who causes a “lot of problems.”
This time around, it was NewsNation’s Libbey Dean at the receiving end of Trump’s anger, as she tried to get a response to questions about the president’s war against Iran. At the time, Trump was taking questions on Tuesday in the Oval Office at the White House, after signing an executive order to create a national voting list to restrict mail-in voting.
President Trump has quite a reputation for slamming journalists, often trying to shame them for asking questions he doesn’t like. Meanwhile, female reporters are the most frequent targets, including one in November, when he said, “Quiet, Piggy.”

However, he has also attacked administration-friendly news outlets, including a male Newsmax reporter last week, asking questions about ICE, by telling him, “You’re not doing a very good job.” At an Oval Office press meeting in October, Trump was rude to a CNN reporter while accusing the network of releasing fake news.
Tuesday’s incident with Dean came at a tense moment when she asked him if he had to make a deal with Iran to exit the war. She appeared to ask him if he had talked to Iran’s leaders directly.

“No, Iran doesn’t have to make a deal, no,” the President said sharply. “I’ve spoken to a lot of people. It’s a new regime. They are much more accessible. They are right. You know, they said, ‘We have a present for you, Mr. President, out of respect. And they said…’”
Possibly to resume her point, Dean interrupted Trump and the President angrily lashed out. “Wait a minute,” Trump said. “Do you want me to answer the question? You’re a fresh person. You know? We’ve had a lot of problems with you, haven’t we? Uh, no, they don’t. You asked me a question. No, they don’t have to make a deal with me. When we feel that they are for a long period of time, put into the Stone Ages, and they won’t be able to come up with a nuclear weapon, then we’ll leave, whether we have a deal or not. It’s irrelevant.”

Meanwhile, the White House’s Rapid Response 47 social media team framed the exchange between Dean and the president as a Trump victory, writing, “@POTUS nukes a rude @LibbeyDean_ after being interrupted.”
