Taylor Swift’s reported choice of June 13 as her wedding date is no coincidence. According to sources speaking to US Weekly, the pop star and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce are set to say “I do” on June 13 in Rhode Island. That date is loaded with meaning.
First, 13 has been Swift’s lucky number since before she could legally drive. She was born on December 13, 1989. She turned 13 on Friday the 13th. Her debut album went gold in 13 weeks. She even hand-painted the number before concerts during the Eras Tour.
And when Kelce got down on one knee last August, that too was the 13th!
But there’s also a very practical reason June 13 made the cut, and it comes down to football. Kelce recently re-signed with the Chiefs for another NFL season. Training camp will start in late July, so the couple needed a time for the wedding that would allow for both a wedding and a honeymoon without cramming them into a calendar already filling up fast.
“The wedding timeline is based on Travis’ offseason rhythm,” a source told Us Weekly.
It’s the pop culture shot heard round the world: Taylor Swift is engaged.

The guest list sits around 150, which has been scaled back after the couple reportedly went back and forth on how big to go. “It won’t be a huge wedding, but there will be many celebrities,” a source confirmed. Swift’s inner circle (Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Emma Stone, the Haim sisters, Zoë Kravitz) are expected to attend, along with Kelce’s teammates and his brother Jason.
The duo is still debating physical invitations as their closest friends already know the date and venue.
The festivities will be split between Swift’s $18 million Rhode Island estate and Ocean House, which is a five-star seaside resort nearby. The ceremony is expected to be traditional as Swift’s father will walk her down the aisle, and father-daughter/mother-son dances will be included, too. “Taylor loves those emotional, meaningful moments, and Travis is on the same page,” a source said.
The dress has already been chosen, and it’s reportedly in the final stages of tailoring. Swift often wears Oscar de la Renta on red carpets and commissioned custom looks from Roberto Cavalli and Versace for the Eras Tour, so expectations are high.

Swift showed up to the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 26 and delivered a speech. She accepted the Best Pop Album for The Life of a Showgirl, and told the crowd the record “probably feels very happy, confident, and free, because that’s the way I get to feel every single day of my life because of my fiancé.” From the audience, Kelce mouthed, “I love you.”
Both families are reportedly supportive while largely staying out of the planning. Swift’s mother, Andrea, however, has been closely involved in the process alongside her daughter. On a recent podcast, Kelce’s sister-in-law, Kylie, said,
“I would love to give you all the details. I don’t have them.”
The pair “made a conscious decision not to let [the planning] cause any tension,” a source noted. Swift admitted she never obsessed over wedding plans before meeting Kelce, either, as she “never thought about [it] until [she] met the person.”
