Robert De Niro again criticized Donald Trump. “People don’t like him for a reason, of all the terrible things he’s done,” the Hollywood legend said in a recent Fox News interview. “If he did nice things, he had the chance. He became president to do nice things, not hateful or retributive, not just outright mean things,” he said during the sidewalk interview.
The Oscar-winning star then made a brutal claim about the president. “If he did nice things, people would love him, but he’s got a problem. He’s damaged,” said the 82-year-old. His short interview with Fox News quickly went viral on social media, with critics and MAGA supporters sharing differing reactions.
“‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’… meanwhile, the man lies daily, cheats, and harms the country, and somehow pointing that out makes YOU the crazy one? Grow a spine,” one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote.
‘HE’S DAMAGED’: Actor Robert De Niro responds to claims that he suffers from “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” saying, “People don’t like him [Trump] for a reason: of all the terrible things he’s done… If he did nice things, people would love him, but he’s got a problem.” pic.twitter.com/MGWpaqvppG

However, the number of critics was lower than the number of supporters in the comments section, as Fox News has a largely conservative audience. “De Niro: ‘Terrible things he’s done.’ Name one with specifics, or admit it’s just blind hate. America voted anyway. Twice,” one Trump supporter slammed.
Another user added, “Good people love Trump. It’s only those with TDS that don’t understand. That’s the definition of TDS. Or some retardation level anyway. Call him Robert De tardo.” A third user wrote, “So much TDS. A pathetic, angry old boomer brainwashed by fake news.”
Robert De Niro has been a vocal critic of Donald Trump since the very beginning. Most recently, he appeared at the “No Kings” rally in New York City on March 28. Addressing attendees at the protest, he criticized the Trump administration’s policies.
“The concept of No Kings is a great rallying cry and hugely successful as millions of us have answered the call. I support this moment 150 percent,” De Niro said. “When the crowd are chanting ‘No Kings,’ what I’m really hearing is ‘No Trump,'” he added.
“He must be stopped and he must be stopped now,” said the Taxi Driver star. “There have been other presidents who have tested the constitutional limits of their power, but none of them have been such an existential threat to our freedoms and security,” he added.
Robert De Niro, at the No Kings protest, says Donald Trump needs to be removed from office for being the most dangerous president he has ever seen.
He claims the entire government trembles at Trump’s shadow, too afraid to ever say no.

De Niro closed his speech by saying, “They should be afraid of us, because we still believe in the core American values of justice, equality, decency and kindness.”
Previously, Trump has responded to the actor, calling him “an idiot.” During an episode of The Best People with Nicole Wallace, De Niro said, “He’s an idiot. We gotta get rid of him. He’s gonna ruin the country.”
After the episode aired, taking to Truth Social, Trump noted, “They should actually get on a boat with Trump Deranged Robert De Niro, another sick and demented person with, I believe, an extremely Low IQ, who has absolutely no idea what he is doing or saying – some of which is seriously CRIMINAL!”
