South Korean rapper-singer Psy may be a talented invisible horse-rider and a one-man YouTube sensation, but Beyoncé he is not.

While performing at a 50,000 strong Seoul Stadium concert on Saturday, the 35-year-old who gave the world the viral 2012 hit “Gangnam Style,” unveiled his take on the R&B diva’s 2008/9 hit “Single Ladies — in singular style.

Resplendent in a red cut-out, pantless costume, Psy unleashed his version of the Bob Fosse dance that Beyoncé paid homage to in her much copied video.

Needless to say, the crowd loved it. In the video linked below the K-Pop star’s performance also included a moment where Beyoncé dances to “Single Ladies” with Psy’s face digitally transferred onto her body.

The theatrical star has also just released his follow up single “Gentleman.” The highly anticipated video onto YouTube after the concert and has already been viewed over 37 million times.

At a press conference held in the stadium before the concert, Psy spoke of the “enormous pressure” he felt about trying to encore the 1.5 billion viewed and multi-million selling “Gangnam Style.” However, he insisted that as a 12-years standing artist he should not be thought of as a one-hit wonder if “Gentleman” fails to compare.

On its release “Gentleman” flew straight into the top five in iTunes charts in South Korea and other Asian markets, but only reached the 90th spot in the US.

The song’s theme is a satire on a gentleman’s attempts to woo women in various different settings.

“Let me tell you about myself. I’m such a charmer with guts, vigor and humor,” Psy sings in Korean before launching into the song’s English hook : “I’m a mother-father gentleman.”

Psy , whose real name is Park Jae-sang, graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, and released his debut album Psy From the Psycho World in 2001.

Since then, he has released five more albums.

What do you think of Psy’s “Single Ladies” cover. Impressive, or not so much?
