People often opt for plastic surgeries when they feel they want to enhance certain aspects of their appearances. These surgeries are generally individual choices as they mostly deal with the way one looks. Celebrities top the list when it comes to people who undergo plastic surgery, but a lot of common people also go under the knife to change their appearance as they want.

Like any other kind of surgery, plastic surgery also comes with its own set of dangers. However, what a lot of people might not know is that some plastic surgeries can be fatal if gone wrong and in some cases, the recovery process also proves to be brutal.

Recently, a user named Topgunner85 asked on Reddit, “Plastic surgeons of Reddit, what body-altering surgery would you never get and why?” A lot of comments followed, some of which seemed to be quite scary and harrowing. One user named SilenceMeanwell mentioned, “Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs) carry a surprisingly high mortality rate and the recovery is brutal.”

Another user, Littman-Express added to that saying. “BBL is the only aesthetic procedure that has its own autopsy technique.” Liquid rhinoplasty was mentioned by boyyousaidit, as they said, “I would never get a ‘nonsurgical’ or ‘liquid’ rhinoplasty. Most of the time that’s just filler injected into the nose.

There is a risk of filler in this location causing you to go blind.” They further added, “And then, of course, what everyone else said about BBLs. Why risk your life to look like you have a full diaper under your shorts?”

A user named NorahGretz mentioned that her sister is an ophthalmologist and added, “her take on LASIK is terrifying.” Another user NoNamesLeft4MeToo added, “As someone who has assessed disability claims, reading the claims for this is what stopped me from having it done. Great if it is done perfectly, but the tiniest mistake can be life-changing for the person who had it done.”

Height changing surgery also came into the discussion, as Turbulent-Net-4927 mentioned, “I would never have an operation to change height — for example, leg lengthening. This is one of the most traumatic and painful operations, with long recovery, risks of complications, and all for the sake of aesthetic or social conformity.”

They further added, “The operation involves bone fracture, their stretching with the help of devices and months — or even years — of pain and rehabilitation. At the same time, the result may be unstable, and expectations may be inflated. For me, it would be too high a price for trying to meet external standards. I’d rather work on accepting myself and finding an environment where growth doesn’t matter.”

One Beverly Hill plastic surgeon, named spatelaesthetics on Reddit, chipped in, saying, “Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, awake and present. I would say fox eye lift, threads lifts, and rib removal.” They also mentioned, “The rest: when done on the right patient by the right surgeon are reasonable surgeries.”

A nurse, whose username is mid_1990s_death_doom joined the discussion, saying, “I’m just a nurse, but I’ll say liposuction is a popular answer. It’s horrible on the body, with a high risk of infection and bleeding and embolism. And better results with diet and exercise.”
