Roman Reigns is one of the most popular wrestlers in the WWE today. So, it should come as no surprise that when a photo of him as a teenager came out, it immediately went viral.
PopCulture.com showed the photo of a young Roman Reigns alongside Jimmy and Jey Uso, who professionally go by the name of The Usos, and are, like The Rock, Reigns’ cousins, signing their letters of intent for Georgia Tech and West Alabama in February of 2003.
This would be the beginning of a sports career for Reigns that took him through professional football, too.
“Roman played football for three years at Pensacola Catholic High School and one year at Escambia High School. In his senior year, he was named Defensive Player of the Year by the Pensacola News Journal. The Guy would go on to star at Georgia Tech along with NFL stud Calvin Johnson. Reigns was a three-year starter and also one of the team captains as a senior. Roman was named to the first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) after recording twenty-nine tackles for loss and twelve sacks in 2006. He signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2007, but was later released. After a brief sting in the CFL, Roman tried his luck with pro wrestling and it’s been going pretty darn good so far.”

Meanwhile, according to Bleacher Report , Roman Reigns is still reeling after losing the Fatal Five-Way to Samoa Joe. Samoa Joe beat out Reigns, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, and Bray Wyatt to be the new number one contender, who will fight against Brock Lesnar next.
The Raw brand is now preparing for the next PPV event .
“For the Reigns fans out there who were worried that not earning a victory Sunday was some sort of sign that WWE management was not firmly in his corner, a huge win over Wyatt in the opening segment of Raw Monday night proved his character will be just fine. In the short term, Reigns can work a storyline against any of the top stars on the Raw brand, but the best possible option would be a battle against Rollins. The two allies have a storied history, but a singles feud would be fresh and interesting until Braun Strowman eventually returns.”

But there are plenty of people who believe that it should have been Roman Reigns, and not Samoa Joe, that’s facing off against Brock Lesnar in the future. One of the biggest proponents of this face-off between Reigns and Lesnar is none other than Forbes Magazine , who believe that Samoa Joe is an unproven commodity , and at a time when the ratings are at an all-time low, now is not the time to do such a thing.
“That seems to be the theme for Raw, with a number of fairly new talents (like Joe) or hot-and-cold ones (like Wyatt) proving incapable of carrying the load in the absence of Lesnar, Braun Strowman, Triple H and other top stars. Reigns, on the other hand, has a long history of doing well at the top of the card. Like Triple H told Sports Illustrated earlier this year: “People can look at Roman Reigns and say, ‘The failed attempt that is Roman Reigns,’ but Roman Reigns sells tickets.”
