Octomom isn’t the only one in rehab now, as Nadya Suleman’s father has also entered the same treatment facility as his daughter.
The grandfather to Nadya Suleman’s 14 children, Ed Doud Suleman, reportedly checked into Chapman House Rehabilitation Center last week, the Daily Mail reported.
It appears to be a long time coming for Nadya Suleman’s father. As TMZ noted , “Ed’s alcohol addiction goes back decades.”
It was Octomom’s decision to get herself clean that reportedly inspired her father to do the same. He has been supportive of Nadya, even offering to return to his native Iraq to work as a translator and driver to help support Octomom and her litter of children.
Nadya Suleman made headlines when she checked herself into rehab in late October, citing prescription drug abuse.
“I chose to seek treatment after consulting with my manager regarding my recent use of Xanax, which was prescribed by my physician for panic attacks,’ Suleman said in a statement released to E! News.
Nadya Suleman’s father reportedly had no part in her decision to enter rehab.
‘There was no intervention that took place,” Octomom said. “I am working in therapy every day with my doctors and therapists regarding the origin of these attacks so as not to have to rely on medications to handle it.”
Many people had questioned the decisions Nadya Suleman had been making in the months leading up to her rehab entry. She seemed increasingly desperate for money, and earlier this year starred in an adult movie that she used to fund her purchase of a home .
With both Nadya Suleman and her father in rehab together, a team of nannies is reportedly watching her 14 children.
