Michael Vartan is headed for a divorce. According to TMZ , the Alias actor’s wife, Lauren Skaar, has filed for divorce due to irreconcilable differences.
For Vartan, meeting his wife could have been plucked out of a romantic comedy. The pair met at a Whole Foods parking lot in Los Angeles. Shortly after, the pair married in 2011 in Newport Beach, California.
Back in 2010, Michael Vartan only had the sweetest words for his wife-to-be Skaar. He told Hollywood Life at a function for American Red Cross in Santa Monica:
“She’s my best friend in the world and that’s why I asked her to marry me.”
At the time he continued to gush about Lauren:
“I have more fun with her than with anyone I’ve ever met. I just woke up one day and could not imagine living without her.”
As far as how quickly he knew that she was the one, Vartan said:
“I knew pretty quickly. As you get older you know what you want and what you don’t want. I didn’t tell her she was the one, but I knew pretty quickly. The great thing about her and me is that I feel like I can be 100% myself.”
His Alias co-star, Victor Garber, acted as one of his groomsmen at his California wedding. At the time Skaar wore Vera Wang.

When Hollywood Life asked about kids, that seemed to be on the horizon for the couple, “Absolutely, down the road. Engagement, marriage, then kids.”
Unfortunately Vartan, 45, and Skaar, 33, do not have any children. Vartan’s soon-to-be ex-wife didn’t use the assistance of a lawyer to file her divorce papers.
Before Vartan married Skaar, he was linked to his Alias co-star Jennifer Garner for a short time before she moved on with Ben Affleck. As we all know, Garner and Affleck have been married for nine years and have three children together, Violet, 8, Seraphina, 5, and Samuel, 2.
As for Vartan, his wife is currently asking for spousal support. It’s said that Lauren Skaar works as a real estate agent. Since Alias went off the air, Vartan has kept a relatively low profile. His most notable project since the show’s end was a recurring role in Bates Motel .
The actor’s next project is a thriller called Crawlspace . So far, it looks unlikely that Michael Vartan will give a statement on his impending divorce.
