Meghan Markle Recycles Trench Coat, Dons Sky-High Heels Playing Aussie Football

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, were welcomed to Melbourne, Australia, by crowds of thousands of fans. After greeting some of the people who had waited hours just to catch a glimpse of the royal couple, Harry and Meghan entered Government House, where they met a number of inspirational people.

And the duchess proved once again that she is capable of doing absolutely anything in high heels. Traversing the grass turf while she and Harry met with members of the This Girl Can organization, the former actress was given a crash course on Australian Rules Football, according to ET Online .

The approximately 150 women from the organization were practicing sports drills outside as Harry and Meghan watched them and learned about the project. The duchess was dressed in a navy blue Dion Lee creation custom designed specifically for her based on another design from the label that she had seen and loved. The garment featured a collared v-neck and an asymmetrical cut skirt, and, while quite elegant on her, was clearly not designed for any kind of sporting activity. She had also paired the ensemble with a pair of sky-high matching navy blue Manolo Blahnik pointed pumps.

That didn’t stop Meghan from getting involved when one woman offered to toss her a handball. She adeptly caught the ball, and showing what a quick study she is, tossed it back perfectly to loud cheers from the watching crowd.

It’s not the first time the duchess has shown off her sporty side. Last month, when she and Harry attended the Coach Core Awards, Meghan was again photographed throwing the ball with some athletes, also in a pair of heels, but at least on that occasion, she was indoors on a solid floor.

As reported by People , upon arrival at Government House, the duchess also had on the same cream-colored trench coat she wore in Sydney, a Martin Grant design that fell to mid-calf length. Clearly, she has made sure to pack as light as possible for the 16-day tour by making sure some of her garments are recyclable. Meghan carried her essentials in a Gucci clutch purse and accessorized with an old favorite: her Shaun Leane diamond and gold tusk bracelet.

She also briefly wore a necklace that was made for her by a young fan out of navy ribbon and gold-painted noodles, as the Inquisitr previously reported.
