The Mega Millions lottery saw no new jackpot winner on Friday, March 6, as the nationwide lottery continued in the early stages of what lottery players hope will be another climb into the nine-figure range. Two Mega Millions jackpots of more than $100 million have already been won this year.

Just one week after a single Mega Millions ticket holder in upstate New York won a jackpot worth $127 million, the lottery game inched up to a $25 million jackpot which will be at stake in the next drawing, Tuesday, March 10.
Whoever bought the latest winning ticket , at South Fallsburg Food Mart in South Fallsburg, New York, has not yet come forward to claim the prize, which if taken in a single payment, and after state and federal withholding taxes are taken out, will leave a cool $58.6 million for the winner to stash in the bank.
“Whoever purchased this ticket is about to have their life changed forever,” said said acting New York Lottery Director Gardner Gurney. “We urge the ticketholder to sign the back of your ticket and keep it in a safe place, and when you’re ready to claim, we look forward to meeting you.”
On January 16, 70-year-old retired driver Jesus Davila, Jr. of Glendale, Illinois, won the year’s other Mega Millions jackpot , which had an estimated value of $270 million.
Friday’s Mega Millions drawing also failed to produce a winner of the game’s $1 million second-prize, as no one matched even the first five numbers without the gold Mega Ball.
The drawing did see 14 of the 16,173,968 tickets sold match four of those first five numbers plus the Mega Ball, good for a $5,000 prize.
But under California’s pari-mutuel payout system, the single third-prize Mega Millions ticket purchased in the Golden State was good for a prize of $16,683. Still a long way from “Mega Millions,” but nonetheless, the largest chunk of the $1,871,569 in prize money eligible to be collected in Friday’s drawing, the 19th of 2015 so far.
