In most cases, lying and cheating on your spouse may lead to bitter fights and a divorce. However, in the case of this Florida woman, she ended up with a murder charge as she killed her husband in the second degree.
The Coral Springs resident, 20 miles northwest of Fort Lauderdale in South Florida, pleaded guilty to the murder using a firearm. According to the judges’ sentence, she’ll be in jail for 21 years. Out of this, she has already spent 285 days in pretrial detention. So now she’s looking to spend almost two decades in prison after her husband’s murder.
The 46-year-old Denise Nicole Malcolm already had a sour relationship with her husband even before the murder. The final fight between the couple lasted an hour and ended with the husband, Rohan Noel Malcolm, 52, dying of several gunshot wounds. The event occurred on August 31, 2024, as the victim came from barbecue shopping.
The murderess’ arrest reports suggest that she did not trust her husband and that she was done with his lies and deceit. She was aware of his cheating and weird behavior. He has not been faithful for over two years now. The last straw was when he told her he was going out with friends to do some shopping. She could not believe his words and thought he was meeting a lady friend.

According to her, he was speaking in code on the phone to pretend it was a male friend. They had a broken marriage and would get into fights as he was not loyal.
That day, Rohan told her about his sudden Port Saint Lucie plans with friends, which led to one final argument between the two. She got angry and finished off the fight by firing multiple times with the handgun. Their son, who’s just 14, heard the gunshots as loud bangs and dialed 911. He was listening to music on headphones, so the sound of the crime was not that strong.
However, the commotion made him rush to his parent’s bedroom; he witnessed his mom with a gun while his dad was shot in the shoulder. The police came in five minutes and started communicating with the wife. Instead of the woman, two twins came out of the house. She, at first, contemplated killing herself with the same gun, but her dying husband’s words made her stop and shoot him one more time.

That final blow took his life. The wife was arrested shortly after. The police saw the husband lying on the floor, lying in a pool of blood. Their kids were aware of the situation with their parents not sleeping in the same room due to their father’s infidelity, but the murder was a shock to them.
There was a GoFundMe for the victims’ funeral, and friends appreciated him for being supportive and kind. Meanwhile, Denise will have to figure out a way to pay up to $23,500.
