Kendra Wilkinson and husband Hank Baskett have become something of a reality television power couple, but the former NFL player may have had his eyes on another Playboy playmate before hooking up with Kendra.
In her tell-all memoir, former Playboy bunny and reality television star Holly Madison revealed that Kendra once had some stiff competition for Hank’s affection. In the book Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny, Madison wrote that Hank was seriously into playmate Kayla Collins, and that it was causing some serious tension in the Playboy Mansion.
“I assumed Kendra felt threatened by another petite, energetic platinum blonde running in front of the cameras,” Holly wrote. “Later, I would hear through the grapevine that Kendra’s future husband, Hank, was apparently after Kayla before he met Kendra. I have no idea if this is true or not, but it would explain the freak-out.”
Holly’s revelation could shed some light on the troubled relationship between Kendra and Hank. The couple has faced rumors of infidelity, and have made their marital problems very public. The couple even appeared on a reality television show for troubled couples called Marriage Boot Camp .
But things appear to be improving for Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett. The Playboy playmate just penned a touching tribute to Hank for Father’s Day.
“There’s a special group of people who truly know about @hank_baskett and his heart. I wish there was a way for the world to see it but at the end of the day the only thing that matters are our 2 kids and how they love and appreciate their papa… Being coach of the sports teams, being involved with school events, praying with them every night before bed and simply loving every minute with them is what I get to see every day. He is THE definition of a FATHER and I couldn’t thank the lord any more for him. Happy Fathers Day @hank_baskett your babies and I love you with every beat of our hearts.”
The memoir is uncovering the bad blood between Kendra Wilkinson and Holly Madison. In a recent interview, Kendra called out Holly, saying she had other intentions during her time in the Playboy Mansion.
“Holly, you can tell, had this ulterior motive every minute being at the Mansion, and that motive was – it was clear as day – she wanted Hef’s kids, she wanted a piece of Playboy and she wanted to marry Hef for, obviously, his will,” Kendra told People magazine.
Kendra Wilkinson has also defended Playboy founder and onetime boyfriend Hugh Hefner against Madison’s mudslinging about her time in the Mansion, saying he is an “amazing human being.”
