Kristi Noem’s controversies have inadvertently become a bottleneck for her daughter, Kassidy. The 31-year-old is now said to bear the brunt of the controversies surrounding her parents.
While the ex-DHS secretary had already caused quite a stir with her alleged rendezvous with Corey Lewandowski, her husband Bryon’s controversy was no less significant. A report by the Daily Mail uncovered the 56-year-old’s double life, in which he allegedly sent hundreds of explicit messages to women. It also claimed that he sent $25,000 worth of payouts, further complicating matters for the family.

Reports allege that Bryon Noem engaged in cross-dressing using the alias Jason Jackson. He discussed his double life for over 14 months. This was made evident through a bundle of chats exchanged between him and the women involved. The controversy escalated with explicit photo reveals showing Bryon cross-dressed in padded outfits, including breasts.
The joint burden of both controversies has reportedly pushed their daughter far away from social media. Although Bryon’s parents defended their son’s loyalty in marriage in the wake of the rumors, it is his daughter who has stepped further away from the public spotlight.
Before the scandal surrounding her father, Kassidy Noem Peters had led a fairly typical life, sharing posts on Instagram. She and her sister, Kennedy Frick, put up a brave face against the already existing rumors about their mother, Kristi, and her top official, Corey Lewandowski.
However, after the added controversy surrounding her father, Peters chose to make her social media account private. She also ended the wellness podcast she hosted with her sister, choosing to retreat from the spotlight entirely.
Since Kassidy and Kennedy do not have professional backgrounds in health and wellness, their Threads of Wellth podcast had already received backlash. Public reception to their episodes dropped significantly. Viewers questioned their credibility to discuss health and wellness topics. Many commenters drew connections between the podcast and their parents’ marital controversies, further limiting its success.
This has not been the first time Peters has faced excessive scrutiny due to her parents’ controversial lives. In 2021, she was forced to resign from the South Dakota Department of Labor amid rumors claiming her mother had influenced her certification.

She had admitted the very possibility of never being able to outrun the perils of being the daughter of a political leader. In her resignation letter, Kennedy had written, “I know as the Governor’s daughter I am always going to be in the public eye. I can’t stop these attacks, but I can choose whether to keep being hurt by the fallout.”
Besides Kristi Noem’s alleged affair rumors with Lewandowski, she brewed more controversy after getting ousted as the DHS Secretary. This added to the already existing troubles for the family, tarnishing their reputation to the worst possible extent.
