Jeffrey Hazelwood, the man accused of killing two teenagers behind a Roswell, Georgia, supermarket, had at least eight run-ins with police before the shootings occurred, including a warning from his stepmother that he would one day hurt people.

NBC 11 Alive reports that Hazelwood, 20, remains behind bars for the August 1 shooting of 17-year-old students Carter Davis and Natalie Henderson. Hazelwood allegedly followed the teens behind a Publix supermarket, robbed them, and shot them both in the head. Within an hour of the shootings, he stopped at a nearby gas station, still wearing a mask, and bought gas with Henderson’s debit card.

Although he doesn’t have a criminal record, incident reports show that police have been called to his home numerous times, a home he shared with his grandparents while growing up. Recently, Hazelwood was living with friends. It’s still unclear why he moved out of his childhood home.

The first known incident happened in February 2010, when an anonymous neighbor called authorities after seeing a teen male playing with a gun in his front yard. When police arrived, Hazelwood explained that it was a toy gun. His stepmother reprimanded him.

In March 2011, Hazelwood was reported missing. He left a note for his grandparents stating that he wanted to live alone in the woods for a few days. He brought along $80 in cash and a Sig Sauer 9mm that he reportedly stole from his grandfather. Instead of going to the woods, Hazelwood went to his mother’s house. Once he agreed to return to his grandparent’s Woodstock home, police called off the search for him.

In September 2011, police were once again called to Hazelwood’s Woodstock home after he got into a nasty dispute with his stepfather. According to the police report, Hazelwood’s stepfather called the police and said Hazelwood continued to sneak out and disregard house rules. Police spoke to Hazelwood, who informed them he would follow the rules.

Three months later, police were called to Hazelwood’s home once again when neighbors made a report about a young teen swinging a sword in his yard. A neighbor told police that the teen, who turned out to be Hazelwood, was not only swinging a sword in his front yard but also throwing knives into trees.

The neighbor also said that Hazelwood was deadly and that he didn’t want the teen coming onto his property. Police issued a criminal trespass warning that both Hazelwood and the neighbor signed.

In May 2012, Hazelwood’s mother called the police and complained about visitation rights. Although she didn’t have custody of her son, she had paperwork proving her right to visit him. Yet, Hazelwood’s stepfather was refusing visitation due to some sort of incident that occurred a few days prior. Authorities warned the stepfather he may be in contempt of court if he didn’t allow visitation.

The following year, Hazelwood’s stepmother called police and said her stepson stole knives and sword from their gun safe. No charges were filed, and Hazelwood refused to talk to police about his issues. The stepmother warned authorities that “he (Hazelwood) was going to blow and people were going to get hurt.”

In February 2016, Hazelwood was placed on a suspect list after his stepfather’s gun was reported as stolen. Two months later, Hazlewood appeared in a police report involving a “suspicious person” at a residential home. No other information was listed.

On August 1, 2016, Jeffrey Hazelwood allegedly followed Carter and Davis to a Publix grocery store at around 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. He reportedly shot them both in the head before stealing Henderson’s debit card and a pair of jumper cables. He remains in Fulton County jail on murder and theft charges, with no bond.
