A romantic kiss shared by two teenage thieves proved to be their undoing as, unbeknownst to them, the loving moment was caught on CCTV cameras.
According to the Mirror , the pair enjoyed the smooch after stealing $420 from a till at a store in China’s Sichuan province.
But after their romantic moment was captured on camera, police was able to track them down and make an arrest.
“They were amateurs because apart from the cash, they did not take anything of value,” said store owner Gong Chen.
“There were cameras and laptop computers and smart phones and they left it all behind because they were so busy kissing.
That kiss was their undoing.
They did it as if they were celebrating, but it wasn’t for long.”
Lei Yu, 19, and his 18-year-old girlfriend, Xiang Ch’iu, were arrested after police analyzed the footage.
“We tracked them down thanks to a tip off from a social media user, and found some of the stolen cash on them,” a police spokesman said.
“They were arrested on the spot.”
