South Korea’s famous celebrity couple, Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo, will tie the knot on October 31. However, things were different last October when Song Hye-Kyo had not agreed to the handsome actor’s proposal. An old video of Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo by a Chinese media agency captured the couple’s feelings for one another at the time.
What happened between the couple last year?
Ardent fans of Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo may recall that the SongSong couple won the President Award in October last year. The ceremony was held on October 27 at the National Theater of Korea in Seoul. Although Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo were seated next to each other, the conversation was kept to a minimum. Instead, Song Joong-Ki was spotted having an animated discussion with another beautiful woman seated on his right — a BTS fan with her high-end camera.
A Hello K-Pop report carrying the headline, “Song Joong Ki Spotted Talking Intimately With BTS’s Fangirl,” went viral on social media. The news agency posted a photograph of the couple that led to a debate among the fans. While many felt that Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo were nothing more than friends, a few hawk-eyed fans saw right through Song Joong-Ki’s strategy. He was trying to make Song Hye-Kyo jealous, they said.
According to the fans, this was around the time when Song Joong-Ki fell in love with Song Hye-Kyo after spending time apart from the actress. Song Joong-Ki was away shooting for the South Korean movie, Battleship Island .
After the conclusion of Descendants of the Sun and a few a fan meets across Asia , the couple was spotted together during the Baeksang Awards held in July. Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo did not make a public appearance after the Baeksang Awards ceremony until October 27, when the President Awards’ ceremony was held.
Song Joong-Ki was hesitant to propose at the time because Song Hye-Kyo had made it clear in several of her interviews that she would never date an actor. According to fans, making Song Hye-Kyo jealous was a desperate attempt on Song Joong-Ki’s part to make her realize his worth, and it worked.
Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo will tie the knot on Monday. Although fans were hoping that the couple’s wedding would be live streamed, the agency put a damper on the excitement. According to a report by Soompi , the wedding ceremony will be held privately. Blossom Entertainment also confirmed that Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo will not be available for a pre-wedding photoshoot.
